The main topic of the National Board Meeting, held in Las Vegas, was the unanimous approval to move forward with the legal fund for leverage against 7-Eleven regarding the 2019 Agreement. The lawsuit will be filed in California by Marc Culp. It has been requested by the National Board that every FOA should give at least one name to Mr. Culp, so that he can interview them to find out if they would represent the franchisee community well as a plaintiff for the 2019 agreement case. If you are interested in being a plaintiff for FOASC in this matter, please call Marc directly at: (940) 484-2405, or send an email to: mculp@cdhllp.com.
The Franchisee Agreement Committee, prior to the meeting with 7-Eleven in Dallas last month, was expecting a one year extension for the 2019 agreement. This commitment was not fulfilled by the 7-Eleven executive team, so we have no choice but to move forward to create leverage to get franchisees a fair agreement. Also, SEI has announced that GGPS (Gradual Gross Profit Splitting) is here to stay. Franchisees are not happy with this, as we see it as unfair.
We will be hosting our 31st Annual Joe Saraceno Invitational Charity Golf Tournament on Wednesday, September 20th 2017 at Industry Hills Gold Club at Pacific Palms Resort; located at One Industry Hills Parkway, City of Industry, CA 91744.
