Altria: CA Tabacco Ban Info
As you know, many cities and towns across California have started to enact flavored tobacco bans. While most of this activity has been in Northern California, flavor bans have been introduced throughout Los Angeles County.
Currently, flavor bans are pending in the City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles and Redondo Beach. Beverly Hills, Manhattan Beach, Cudahy and Hermosa Beach have already passed flavored tobacco sales bans.
Council members and county supervisors do not understand the impact flavor bans have on the viability of your business. They need to hear from you directly. That is why we are asking you to compete the attached information sheet.
Having this information will help the FOA keep you informed if your city council decides to introduce a flavor ban ordinance. Your willingness to meet with Council members, invite them to your store, or send a letter will provide local decision makers with important insight into the challenges of operating a convenience store and highlight the policies and procedures in place to ensure tobacco is not sold to minors.
